Super Vel Edged Weapons Defense
Hosted by Super Vel, in this program of instruction, you will be trained in how to defend against an edged weapon attack if you carry a firearm (armed) and if you can’t or don’t carry or have access to a firearm (unarmed), how to use an edged weapon against a violent physical threat and how to defend yourself, and those with you, against a blade attack even if you have nothing in your hands.
Unarmed: Learn the critical skills for using the fixed or folding blade in self-defense. What’s the best knife for personal carry? What’s the difference between serrated and non-serrated edges? What features should you look for in a folding, fixed or knife? Your fixed, folding or curved blade is useless to you in a self-defense situation if you aren’t trained to rapidly deploy it and fight for your life. In this course, you will be introduced to effective defensive and rapid deployment of both folding and fixed blades.
Armed: The very same training used by DoD, law enforcement and protection professionals required to successfully managing multiple assailants, this program answers the questions: What can I do to defend against an assailant who is attacking me with an edged weapon, and I CAN’T get to my firearm in time? What can I do in those precious few seconds when I’m reacting to a surprise attack, while trying to get to my gun? What if I’m taken off guard and with nothing in my hands – how can I defend myself and/ or my partner from a life-threatening edged weapon assault? What are the requisite skills needed to make combat effective round placement in the shortest amount of time and at extreme close quarters?
Course Overview: Defense against the seven lethal target areas of your body, managing the fateful injury/ distance liability gap, risk metrics, blade mechanics, wound analysis & effects, armed and unarmed defense against an edged weapon attack at extreme close quarters, mastering force vectors, gun handling skills (“indexing”, “programming,” etc.), engaging multiple assailants and a rare training block on exotic edged weapons to include familiarization with the infamous “karambit” and other curved blades. There is no prerequisite for this course.
Description: What’s the best knife for personal carry? What’s the difference between serrated and non-serrated edges? What features should you look for in a folding or fixed blade knife? Your fixed, folding or curved blade is useless to you in any self-defense situation unless you can readily access it, deploy it and be ready to fight for your life. In this course, you will be introduced to realistic personal defense and rapid deployment of both folding and fixed blades. Learn the critical skills for using the fixed or folding blade in self-defense. You will also be trained in what to do if you have nothing in your hands and you were attacked by one or more assailants wielding an edged weapon. You will also be introduced to the curve blade – how it is used, its advantages over a straight edge and what makes the curved blade such a unique defensive tool employed at bad breath distance. If you carry a gun, there is a concentrated training block on armed defense when you cannot access your firearm in time and how to beat the 21 foot “rule”. There is no prerequisite for this class. Instruction includes the Pros and cons of fixed/ folding/ straight/ curved blades, rapid deployment, edged weapon defense, armed and unarmed defense against edged weapon attacks, the field truth about disarming, and defense against the seven lethal strike zones on the human body.
